Insurance disclosure
What this site is — and isn’t.
A plain-language guide to how to read everything else on this website, and what to expect from us as an agency.
Florida State Insurance Group, Inc. is an independent insurance agency. This site gives you general insurance education, an overview of the coverage categories we can help with, tools to help you prepare for a conversation with an agent, and ways to reach us. It is not, and is not meant to be, an insurance policy, a binding platform, or a substitute for talking with a licensed professional about your actual situation.
General educational information
Everything on this website — the product pages, glossary, FAQs, blog articles, and coverage calculator — is general educational information about common types of insurance coverage. It’s meant to help you understand insurance concepts and ask better questions, not to replace personalized advice. Examples are simplified for readability, and a licensed insurance professional can explain how these concepts actually apply to your situation.
Coverage descriptions
The coverage descriptions on this site summarize common insurance concepts in plain language. They don’t add, remove, extend, or otherwise change any coverage — only an issued policy can do that. Different insurers write their own policy forms and endorsements, so a coverage with the same name can work differently from one carrier to the next, and not every option described here is available from every insurer.
Your policy documents control
Availability and eligibility
Coverage availability can vary by insurer, by location, and by the property, vehicle, or vessel involved. Eligibility depends on underwriting — the insurer’s own review of the risk — and pricing varies accordingly. Submitting information through this website, including a quote request, does not guarantee that you’ll be eligible for coverage, that a specific option will be available to you, or what any premium would be. Not every product described on this site is available to every applicant.
A quote request is not coverage
Submitting a quote request, the contact form, or the coverage calculator does not bind insurance, create coverage, change an existing policy, guarantee a premium, or guarantee acceptance. Coverage becomes effective only through the applicable carrier’s actual binding and issuance process, using the documentation that process requires — never through a website form alone.
Quote information can change
Any coverage or premium information discussed during a quote request can change as it’s reviewed. Verified application details, underwriting, property or vehicle information, reports obtained where permitted, the limits and deductibles you choose, and each carrier’s own eligibility rules can all affect the final terms. What’s discussed early in the process is a starting point for a conversation, not a final offer.
Coverage calculator
The coverage calculator helps you organize the details of your situation and turns them into educational prompts and questions to bring to an agent. It does not calculate an insurance contract, determine the coverage you’re required to carry, guarantee that your limits are adequate, perform underwriting, or provide actuarial or legal advice — and it doesn’t bind coverage. Your answers stay in your browser and are never sent to our servers.
Florida-specific information
Florida’s insurance rules, coverage requirements, and regulatory environment can change. Storm, hurricane, flood, coastal, condominium, and auto-related coverage often carry Florida-specific considerations worth discussing directly. Where this site mentions a specific figure or requirement, confirm with a licensed professional that it’s still current before relying on it.
Flood vs. homeowners insurance
Flood coverage is a separate discussion from standard property insurance. A standard homeowners or condo policy typically doesn’t cover flood-related damage, and a separate flood policy is usually needed for that protection. Not every insurer or policy handles this the same way, and flood risk can exist even outside officially mapped high-risk flood zones. See our flood insurance page for more, and FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program for federal program specifics.
Claims
This website is educational and does not process, adjust, or file insurance claims. If you need to report a claim, follow the process described in your actual policy or provided by your insurer — this usually means contacting your carrier directly using the number on your policy documents. We’re glad to help answer questions when appropriate, but your carrier’s own claim process controls how a claim is actually handled. In an emergency, contact appropriate emergency services first, not this website.
Third-party services and links
This site may link to outside destinations — an insurance carrier, a quote provider, a secure third-party service, a review platform, or a social media profile — once those are configured. Those external sites have their own terms and privacy practices that we don’t control, and linking to them isn’t an endorsement of everything on them.
Talk to a licensed professional
Nothing on this website replaces a conversation with a licensed insurance professional who can review your actual situation. When you’re ready, our agency is glad to help.
